BWXT's Technical Services Group

BWXT’s Technical Services Group (TSG) is seeking a Project Controls Specialist to support project planning, scheduling, cost control, and reporting for complex projects within the nuclear sector.

 

The successful candidate will work closely with project managers and stakeholders to ensure projects are executed efficiently, on schedule, and within budget.

 

This position is located in Ontario, Canada, and for eligible candidates, a relocation or temporary living package may be part of the compensation package.

 

Responsibilities / Duties:

  • Develop and maintain project schedules using industry-standard tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
  • Monitor project budgets, forecasts, and expenditures to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
  • Track progress, performance metrics, and key deliverables for ongoing projects.
  • Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies to support project success.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports on project status, cost analysis, and resource planning.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Support contract management, procurement processes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct variance analysis and recommend corrective actions to maintain project efficiency.
  • Assist in developing best practices for project controls across our portfolio.

 

Requirements / Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience in project controls, cost management, or scheduling is desirable.
  • Preference is given to those who have experience with Primavera P6, MS Project, or other scheduling tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) principles is an asset.
  • Familiarity with nuclear industry regulations and safety standards is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a dynamic team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability as a self-starter.
  • Experience working with Canadian regulatory bodies is preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of Canadian contracting standards is preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Canadian Security Clearance.

Compensation

This position is open to candidates of all experience levels. The compensation listed below reflects the starting range and may vary based on experience and qualifications.

 

 

Pay: $56,000.00 USD - $88,000.00 USD

 

The base salary range for this position in Virginia (US-VA) at the start of employment is expected to be between $56,000.00 USD and $88,000.00 USD per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement.  The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
