Position Overview:
The Entry-Level Project Manager supports the planning, coordination, monitoring, and documentation of assigned HPDU project activities. The role is intended for an early-career professional who understands fundamental project management concepts and is developing the judgment, technical context, and stakeholder-management skills needed to independently manage increasingly complex work. The position works under the direction of more experienced project management personnel while owning clearly defined tasks, deliverables, action tracking, and smaller work packages.

Your Day to Day as a Project Manager, HPDU:

  • Supports development and maintenance of project execution plans, milestone lists, action registers, risk registers, decision logs, and project status information. 
  • Coordinates assigned project activities across engineering, procurement, manufacturing/construction, quality, operations, project controls, and other supporting organizations. 
  • Owns and drives closure of assigned action items; confirm owners, required completion dates, dependencies, and evidence of completion. 
  • Assists with schedule development and maintenance by collecting activity status, validating forecast dates, identifying constraints, and communicating emerging delays. 
  • Supports cost management activities by tracking commitments, actuals, forecasts, and variances for assigned scope in coordination with project controls and responsible managers. 
  • Prepares routine project reports, meeting materials, look-ahead summaries, milestone status, action aging, and concise issue summaries for review by project leadership. 
  • Maintains project documentation and ensure records are organized, current, and retrievable in accordance with applicable project and company requirements. 
  • Supports risk and opportunity identification by documenting potential impacts, owners, mitigation actions, and due dates; follow through on mitigation completion. 
  • Supports formal change control by gathering scope, schedule, cost, risk, and stakeholder impacts for proposed changes. 
  • Participates in supplier, subcontractor, or internal work-package coordination meetings and track commitments affecting HPDU milestones. 
  • Assists in readiness reviews, design or execution reviews, project assessments, turnover activities, and closeout documentation as assigned. 
  • Develops working knowledge of HPDU project objectives, interfaces, key milestones, governance, applicable procedures, and stakeholder expectations. 
  • Demonstrates disciplined adherence to safety, quality, procedural compliance, and nuclear safety culture expectations in all project activities. 

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. 
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience in project coordination, engineering, manufacturing, construction, operations, quality, project controls, or a related technical environment. 
  • Working knowledge of basic project management concepts including scope, schedule, cost, risk, actions, milestones, and change management. 
  • Ability to organize information, manage multiple assignments, follow through on commitments, and communicate status accurately. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment. 
  • Proficiency with standard business applications and ability to learn applicable project management and scheduling tools. 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in nuclear, defense, Department of Energy, manufacturing, construction, or another highly regulated environment. 
  • Exposure to integrated schedules, cost tracking, earned value management, risk registers, or formal change-control processes. 
  • Experience working with engineering documents, procurement activities, suppliers, fabrication/manufacturing, installation, testing, or commissioning. 
  • CAPM certification, project management coursework, or progress toward PMP eligibility.

Pay: $99,410 - $157,000

 

The base salary range for this position in Tennessee (US-TN) at the start of employment is expected to be between $99,410 and $157,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement.  The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
