Position Overview:
As our Project Expeditor you will ensure that manufacturing sublet vendors deliver their products on time and at the required quality level by coordinating closely with internal teams and external suppliers. In this role, you will support compliance with company standards and purchase orders, proactively address delivery issues, and facilitate smooth communication across departments. Reporting to the Director, Manufacturing Optimization & Planning, and working without direct reports, you will play a key part in maintaining efficient production flow and vendor performance.

Your Day to Day as our Project Expeditor:

  • Review, analyze, and track supplier schedules to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Meet regularly with vendors to assess performance, remove barriers, and support recovery plans when timelines slip.
  • Expedite document submissions from suppliers and internal stakeholders to maintain project momentum.
  • Partner with project teams to resolve supplier technical or quality issues.
  • Coordinate closely with internal departments, including Document Control, to monitor document status and ensure vendor schedules align with BWXT planning.
  • Develop and enhance reporting tools that provide project teams with accurate, timely information.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date project status reports, including Purchase Orders, Transmittals, Non-Conformances, and Corrective Actions.
  • Ensure full compliance with external codes, regulations, and BWXT standards.
  • Follow all company policies and safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and prompt reporting of injuries or safety concerns.
  • Contribute positively to team culture by collaborating effectively, supporting continuous improvement, and maintaining dependable work habits.
  • Share knowledge, seek clarification when needed, and participate actively in achieving departmental and company goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support smooth and efficient project execution.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Post‑secondary education in Administration, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in quality, engineering, or procurement within a manufacturing environment.
  • Background in manufacturing, planning, and procurement; experience in aerospace, defense, or nuclear industries is an asset.
  • Strong understanding of departmental responsibilities, procedures, and operational methods.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
  • Excellent customer service skills with strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast‑paced environment.

The base salary range for this position in Ontario (CA-ON) at the start of employment is expected to be between $68,000 and $91,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment.
