EHS Specialist

We are currently recruiting for a EHS Specialist for our facility in Vancouver, B.C.
 
JOB SUMMARY:
 
Under general supervision of the Director, Quality, Safety & Regulatory Affairs, performs the following functions:
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
• Provide first line technical radiation safety advice to staff.
• Carry out or monitor occupational health and safety and safety procedures to provide a safe working environment within Vancouver operations and to provide a safe surrounding environment.
• Perform radiation safety duties that satisfies Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) Regulations and associated site license.
• Act as first line radiation safety respondent in the event of on-site or off-site radiation incidents on a 24-hour basis.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
 
• Normally, a Bachelor of Science degree or (3-year) technologist diploma in a relevant life science discipline plus 3 to 6 years of relevant technical experience.
• Environmental health & safety education and experience would be considered an asset.
