In the performance of their respective tasks and duties all employees are expected to conform to the following:

 Duties and Responsibilities                                                                                                     

  • Responsible for leading the quality control personnel that perform required inspections, nondestructive testing, support moves of flight hardware, perform precision inspection and evaluate the work of journeyman level crafts people. Also responsible for quality engineering personnel and inspection personnel that support rocket engine testing performed by third party personnel.
  • Achieves quality control and quality assurance operational objectives by implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; contributing information and analysis to senior management; preparing and completing action plans; identifying and resolving problems; completing audits; determining system improvements; implementing change.
  • Meets quality assurance financial objectives by estimating requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Supports development of quality assurance plans by conducting hazard analyses; identifying critical control points and preventive measures; establishing critical limits, monitoring procedures, corrective actions, and verification procedures; monitoring inventories.
  • Validates quality processes including product specifications and quality attributes; measuring production; documenting evidence; determining operational and performance qualification; writing and updating quality assurance procedures.
  • Maintains product quality by completing product, company, system, compliance, and surveillance audits; investigating customer complaints; collaborating with other members of management to develop new product and engineering designs, and manufacturing and training methods.
  • Prepares quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends including failed processes, stability studies, recalls, corrective actions, and re-validations.
  • Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Foster development and growth of organization-wide process improvement efforts. Identify areas of opportunity, quantify the opportunity, define the potential improvements (i.e. eliminate, streamline, automate), help lead the implementation of improvements and measure the results.
  • Ability to gain consensus and commitment within cross-functional and cross business unit teams to execute and quickly implement the identified changes as well as to “evangelize” process improvement thinking throughout the corporation.
  • Develop a culture of operation excellence and process improvement within the environment.
  • All other duties assigned.



  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Systems/Management/Quality, or the Equivalent combination of Education and Experience.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in the Quality Assurance Field

Working Conditions                                                                                                                 

  • Physical effort involving able average standing, sitting, walking or detail work.
  • Occasional risk of injury due to hazards.


 Physical Requirements                                                                                                            

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must have the dexterity to operate office equipment as required by the position.

      Preferred Subject Matter Experience

  • Experience with Hydraulic and Pneumatic Systems.
  • Working knowledge of non-destructive testing techniques.
  • Certified Six Sigma Black belt (CSSBB) strongly desired.
  • Experience working with a Union Represented Workforce a plus.

Other Requirements                                                                                                               

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen in order to obtain required NASA badge.
  • Certificate (with state seal)/Passport/ INS Citizenship documents on date of hire (candidate will be sent home if this paperwork is not provided upon arrival on date of hire).
  • Must be able to provide a certified Birth Certificate (with state seal)/Passport/ INS Citizenship documents on date of hire (candidate will be sent home if this paperwork is not provided upon arrival on date of hire).
  • Must have the ability to communicate the English language, both verbally and written, in an effective manner.
  • Must have current and maintain a valid driver’s license.
