Position Overview:
The BWSR project is seeking a Radiological Controls Manager for a position at the Kesselring Atomic Power Laboratory (KAPL). The Radiological Controls Manager is responsible for the overall administration of maintaining strict radiological standards, control of radiological work operations and procedures, dosimetry and records, and providing on the job supervision of all radiological work.

Your Day to Day as a Radiological Controls Manager:
- Responsible for the conduct of all radiological work and emergency response performed by Radiological Controls Technicians (RCTs), Supervisory Radiological Controls Technicians (SRCTs), and a Radiological Controls Instructor (RCI).
- Provides radiological oversight of all radiological work performed by the company.
- Communicates and coordinates with customer radiological organizations.
- Teams with BWSR department managers to ensure radiological controls are understood and implemented with high standards.
- This position requires the ability to communicate and coordinate with personnel from multiple departments.
- Manage performance and attendance using electronic systems.
- Fosters a safe working environment by making safety a visible priority.
- Responsible for hiring activities within the RCT group.
- Administers disciplinary action when required and addresses inadequate performance issues promptly.
Required Qualifications:
- A two-year college degree in functional area and a minimum of five years of experience in radiological control or health physics or managing radiation safety programs in a nuclear or radiological environment.
- The candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) “L” security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a functional area.
- Ten years of experience in the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program.
- Five years of experience as a Radiological Controls Technician Supervisor.

Pay: $114,000 - $180,000
The base salary range for this position in New York (US-NY) at the start of employment is expected to be between $114,000 and $180,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement. The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
