We are actively seeking a Project Controls Planner/Scheduler to join our team in Peterborough / Darlington.
The Project Controls Planner/Scheduler – TDS Projects is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating the execution of complex nuclear maintenance projects involving Target Delivery Systems. This role ensures project objectives are achieved safely, efficiently, and in alignment with regulatory standards and contractual requirements.
This position reports to the Manager, Project Controls & Analysis and has no direct reports. The role involves influencing and negotiating with both internal departments and customer representatives to ensure schedule adherence and project success
ACCOUNTABILITES
Project Planning & Scheduling:
- Develop, update, and maintain detailed project schedules (engineering and construction) using Visio and Primavera.
- Establish and manage schedule baselines in alignment with budgets and project goals.
- Prepare scheduling procedures and issue special instructions as needed.
- Coordinate closely with project management to identify scheduling priorities and maintain alignment between budget, schedule, and deliverables.
- Produce and analyze key project metrics, including productivity and work-down curves.
Execution Readiness:
- Ensure schedule readiness by coordinating:
- Approval of lift plans;
- Review of documentation with trades;
- Monitor and integrate department-level planning activities including resource load boards and master project plans.
OPG-Specific Responsibilities:
- Support OPG Station Work Management:
- Assist PCCT with logic and formatting using Primavera P6.
- Address work control issues and mitigate scheduling risks.
- Ensure scope requirements are properly captured in station systems.
- Ensure task readiness: AS9 statuses, REPS assignments, CMS permits, work protection, ignition permits, and combustible material permits.
- Track station milestones and participate in outage and online readiness meetings.
Schedule & Cost Control for Sub-Contractors:
- Coordinate and review weekly schedule products including:
- POD packages (daily);
- T-products (weekly);
- Installation plans and resource profiles (weekly).
- Validate subcontractor progress by reviewing:
- Trade timesheets;
- Cost reports;
- Attendance and progress reports.
- Align subcontractor work with organizational plans and budgets.
Meetings and Reporting:
- Attend project and vendor meetings to communicate schedule status and update plans.
- Maintain daily activity and deliverables list per project.
- Produce earned value reports (SPI), internal and external progress reports, and project KPIs.
- Support monthly cost reviews and contractual reporting cycles.
Communication:
- Provide timely feedback to project managers on deviations from schedule.
- Ensure accurate, timely communication of schedule impacts and resolutions.
Cost Management Support:
- Prepare baseline budgets for schedule activities.
- Generate earned value analysis and schedule-driven cost reports to meet project reporting requirements.
Security Clearance:
This role requires the successful candidate to complete the security clearance process. The security clearance process is conducted in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) and the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) and may take up to 12 months to complete.

The base salary range for this position in Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between $85,000 and $126,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits.
