We are currently seeking a Production Planning Admin to help lead and support our Peterborough, ON Fuel Bundle Assembly Production team.

The Production Planning Admin will schedule and track work through facilities, supporting Peterborough Medical Isotope production and PMI Brampton. This will include supporting production plans and customer orders, including timely release of material to shop, expedite upstream activities and interface with customer representatives as well as internal and external parties.

 

 

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, this role communicates extensively with internal management and employees within the fuel assembly production team, medical isotope production team, and PMI Brampton team, as well as senior leadership as part of its day-to-day function. This role will have frequent levels of exposure to diverse internal and external parties to effectively track, report out and seek additional work.

 

Specific responsibilities and accountabilities include:

 

  • Responsible for the coordination of developing project or department schedules that will support shop plans and customer orders, as well as permit effective execution of work scope for Medical Isotope production and PMI Brampton.
  • Scheduling and ordering raw material for three different product types pertaining to the Medical Isotope business and PMI Brampton.
  • Developing a schedule from scratch prior to production and maintaining scheduling once it is up and running.
  • Developing and communicating a job list for each of the different jobs, capturing and tracking all raw materials.
  • Working with suppliers regarding raw materials.
  • Interfacing with customers and participating in bi-weekly meetings regarding tracking shipments.
  • Reviewing schedules with management and vendors.
  • Monitoring, updating and communicating status, alerting stakeholders to any deviations in plan and initiating concerns.
  • Initiating and chairing meetings, as required, to increase communication, as well as expediting the required resources to ensure timely resolution to issues.
  • Responsible for developing reporting tools for demand vs. forecast.
  • Developing and creating forecast demonstrating how much work the business is capable of taking on and showing revenue.
  • Interface with manufacturing, purchasing, etc. on material status and production planning issues.
  • Assisting/coordinating in tracking/analyzing data and production required reports.
  • Performing other job-related duties as required or assigned.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

 

  • College Diploma or equivalent in Business Management, Material or Inventory Control.
  • In-depth knowledge of business office processes and practices acquired through a minimum of 2-5 years of relevant experience.
  • 1-3 years experience in manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite - Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Superior organizational skills, with a high attention to detail, commitment to process improvement and ability to multi-task.
  • Fast and reliable judgement, with the ability to prioritize tasks both derived from the standard fiscal rhythm and assigned by local management.
  • Proven time management and organizational skills, ability to work well under pressure with tight timelines, experience dealing with multiple conflicting priorities and the know-how to prioritize effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team or independently.
  • Ability to take initiative and anticipate the needs of the business.
  • Proven problem solving skills.

 The base salary range for this position in Ontario (CA-ON) at the start of employment is expected to be between $$64,000 and $88,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment.
