We are currently recruiting for a Nuclear Services Mechanical Technician for our Peterborough, Ontario location. This is a 6 Month Contract position.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform field service assignments at customer sites (including Nuclear Generating Stations) and/or project partner locations in accordance with the assigned/site determined schedule
  • Read blueprints, schematics, and diagrams to determine the method and sequence of assembly of a part, machine, or piece of equipment
  • Perform Precision Machining, Fitting, Mechanical Assembly, Test and Commissioning of Nuclear Automation, Equipment, and Tooling
  • Use of precision measuring instruments, to ensure that specifications of above are met
  • Set up and conduct tests of complete units and record test procedures/results, numerical and graphical data, and recommendations for changes in product or test methods
  • Follow shop assembly instructions (Travelers), technical documents, etc.
  • Work as part of a Manufacturing Team of Engineers, Technicians, Specialists, Skilled Trades, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Technical diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Engineering technology and completed apprenticeship as machinist/tool and die
  • Experience in precision machining/assembly/manufacture of electro-mechanical parts and equipment
  • Experience with assembly and troubleshooting of automation, pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical systems
  • Must pass medical to qualify as a Nuclear Energy Worker
  • Must be willing to travel to customer sites and have a valid class 'G' or ‘G2’ driver's license
  • Experience in Nuclear industry including but not limited to pressure boundary equipment

 The base salary range for this position in Ontario (CA-ON) at the start of employment is expected to be between $83,164.38 and $102,550.50  per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment.
