Nuclear Services Electrical Technician (6-month Contract)

Qualifications:

·         Technical diploma in Electrical/Engineering technology or completed apprenticeship.

·         Experience in machining/assembly/manufacture of electro-mechanical parts and equipment.

·         Experience with assembly and troubleshooting of automation, pneumatics, hydraulics and mechanical systems.

·         Experience with assembly and troubleshooting of automated tooling, control cabinets, cable assemblies and printed circuit boards.

·         Must pass medical to qualify as a Nuclear Energy Worker.

·         Must be able to travel to customer sites and have a valid class ‘G2’ or 'G' driver's license.

 

Desired:

·         Previous electrical experience.

·         Experience in Nuclear industry.

 

The Position:

·         Perform work of a specialize nature covering electronic/electrical disciplines and includes some mechanical duties.

·         Assemble, wire, test and commission new nuclear fuel handling electrical controls and devices.

·         Manufacture multi-conductor electrical cable assemblies with crimp and solder terminations.

·         Test, troubleshoot and repair electrical/electronic control equipment, etc.

·         Read electrical drawings.

·         Follow nuclear assembly Travellers and adhere to assembly procedures, technical documents, etc.

·         Compile test results and prepare reports.

·         Work in a manufacturing team.

·         Perform field service assignments.

·         Operation and/or calibration of Tinius Olsen machine, fluke meters, scopes, strippers, crimpers, pressure gauges, etc.

·         Understand technical terminology.

·         Know how and when to apply a technical skill or procedure.

·         Identify safety issues and problems.

·         Take appropriate corrective action.

·         Monitor the corrective action.

·         Identify issues, problems and opportunities.

·         Gather and interpret information.

Applied Learning:

·         Learn to use a computer to input or retrieve information.

·         Learn to assemble and wire panels.

·         Learn manufacturing documentation (QCI, MEI etc.).
