Mechanical Technician - Nuclear Services (12-Month Contract)

Mechanical Technician - Nuclear Services (12-month Contract)

The Position:

• Perform field service assignments at customer sites (including Nuclear Generating Stations) and/or project partner locations in accordance with the assigned/site determined schedule.
• Read blueprints, schematics, and diagrams to determine the method and sequence of assembly of a part, machine, or piece of equipment.
• Perform precision machining, fitting, mechanical assembly, test and commissioning of nuclear automation, equipment, and tooling.
• Use of precision measuring instruments to ensure that specifications of above are met.
• Set up and conduct tests of complete units and record test procedures/results, numerical and graphical data, and recommendations for changes in product or test methods.
• Follow shop assembly instructions (Travelers), technical documents, etc.
• Work as part of a Manufacturing Team of Engineers, Technicians, Specialists, Skilled Trades, etc.

• Assist Engineers to design, develop, test, and manufacture nuclear automation and other equipment.
• Make sketches and rough layouts, record and analyze data, make calculations and estimates, and report findings.

Qualifications:

• Technical diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Engineering technology and completed apprenticeship as machinist/tool and die.
• Experience in precision machining/assembly/manufacture of electro-mechanical parts and equipment.
• Experience with assembly and troubleshooting of automation, pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical systems.
• Must pass medical to qualify as a Nuclear Energy Worker.
• Must be willing to travel to customer sites and have a valid class 'G' or ‘G2’ driver's license.

Desired:

• Experience in nuclear industry including but not limited to pressure boundary equipment.
