Position Title: Manufacturing Engineering Intern
Location: Peterborough, Ontario
Duration: 16 months

Reporting to:  Manufacturing Manager - Nuclear Services


About Us:


BWXT Nuclear Energy Canada Inc. designs, builds, tests and supplies custom-engineered equipment, parts, tooling and medical isotope manufacturing equipment for the Nuclear Power industry in Canada and around the world. 


The Position:


As a key member of the Fuel Handling Manufacturing team, you will gain valuable, real-world work experience through a diverse array of responsibilities that will provide you with broad exposure to the BWXT Nuclear Energy business.  


Nature of work:


In this role, your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to);
∙ Manufacturing planning, support and execution of a wide variety of automated equipment design/build projects for nuclear customers.
∙ Work with manufacturing, engineering, sourcing and commercial groups to coordinate the procurement, assembly, and supply of replacement parts and equipment maintenance kits to customers for the repair and overhaul of installed equipment.
∙ Initiate and complete projects as part of ongoing facilities upgrades of our Welding and Assembly areas.  Examples include specification, installation and commissioning of new equipment, facility construction projects, productivity improvements, etc.


Do you qualify?  We are seeking…

∙ Senior Engineering students interested in working in a custom design/build equipment business.

∙ Enrolled in an Engineering program in one of the following discipines:  Mechanical, Mechatronics, Nuclear or Manufacturing.
∙ Excellent organizational, computer and data management skills.
∙ Proven strong interpersonal and communication skills.
∙ Knowledge and experience with procurement, custom manufacturing, machining, welding, and electro-mechanical equipment.
