Qualifications:

  • Completed Apprenticeship in relevant field (Electrical)
  • Have previous troubleshooting and maintenance experience in a production facility
  • Experience working with conventional computer applications
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and utilize PLC Logic for troubleshooting / modify programs as needed
  • Demonstrated ability to read and troubleshoot from as built drawings and electrical schematics
  • Must pass medical to qualify as an Nuclear Energy Worker, Beryllium Worker
  • Must have a valid class ‘G’ or ‘G2’ driver’s licence

 

Desired:

  • Training in multiple disciplines (Millwright / Mechanic / Industrial Electrician / Electromechanical Technician)
  • Multiple PLC programming languages (Allen Bradley, Siemens, TI / workshop 505)
  • Previous experience with HVAC equipment would be considered an asset
  • Previous experience with mechanical set-up, adjustments and troubleshooting
  • Previous experience with lab equipment (flow benches / fume hoods, etc.)
  • Experience with fanuc robot path teach and programming

 

Duties include:

  • Provide Production shift (Days/Afternoons) support for Fuel Manufacturing facility
  • Maintain and upgrade manufacturing equipment
  • Maintain and upgrade facility lighting / electrical panels as required
  • Correctly diagnose electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic problems and expedite its repair
  • Troubleshoot, program and maintain PLC's and HMI's (AB, Siemens, Texas Instruments)
  • Monitor processes and correct process issues
  • Verify dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments
  • Perform PM’s (clean / lubricate), repairs and overhauls on all associated mechanical & electrical equipment.
  • Read and understand Manufacturing Engineering Instructions / Inspection Procedures / Lab Procedures
  • Provide suggestions to Process Owners for updates of procedures / improvements to equipment and
  • Perform other shop floor related EHS duties
  • Communicate effectively with support staff, production operators and management
  • Assist in the training of equipment operators
  • Be self-directed
