We are seeking a dynamic Director, Projects and Parts for our Fuel and Fuel Handling business. This senior leadership role will be based in Peterborough, ON, and will oversee our Project Management Organization (PMO) and Parts teams across four sites, including Oakville, Toronto, and Arnprior. BWXT NEC's Fuel Handling and Engineered Solutions group is involved in the design, manufacture, development, testing, parts supply, and service of on-power refueling, reactor maintenance, and nuclear medicine delivery tooling sold around the world. We are the original designer of the automated systems that allow 24/7 on power refueling of CANDU reactors and aim to solve some of the Nuclear Industry’s most challenging problems. Today, BWXT’s equipment is being used in most of the nuclear power plants in Canada and is critical to delivering carbon free energy production and lifesaving medical isotopes.

Position Overview:
As the Director of Projects and Parts, you will be accountable for the successful delivery of all projects and parts initiatives, including profit/loss management. Leading a team of approximately 45 people, you will drive operational excellence, strategic project execution, and continuous improvement across the business. This role reports directly to the Vice President of Fuel and Fuel Handling and is a key member of the business leadership team.
You will collaborate with senior executives, maintain strong customer relationships, and lead a culture of customer-first thinking while expanding and optimizing our Parts business.

Your Day to Day as our Director, Projects & Parts
Deliver Projects & Parts Performance:
- Ensure on-time delivery of projects and parts, targeting 95% or higher.
- Oversee the PMO portfolio, manage risks, and provide strategic operational leadership.
- Maintain project data integrity, KPIs, and reporting standards for senior stakeholders.
Build Strong Customer Relationships:
- Lead escalations with senior customer executives, ensuring timely issue resolution.
- Promote a customer-first culture throughout the organization.
- Align internal teams with customer expectations and feedback to maximize satisfaction.
Drive Business Growth & Financial Performance:
- Lead the Parts business expansion and introduction of new products/services.
- Manage budgets, project costs, and financial performance.
- Develop strategies to optimize organizational effectiveness and profitability.
Lead & Develop Teams:
- Recruit, mentor, and retain top talent in the PMO and Parts teams.
- Drive a high-performance culture through coaching, performance metrics, and accountability.
- Support training and capability development for project management and operational excellence.
Optimize Tools, Processes & Skills:
- Embed organizational change and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and corporate governance.
- Develop and maintain SOPs and best practices for project management and parts operations.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field.
- Experience: 15+ years in project management and senior leadership, preferably in nuclear or energy sectors.
- Financial Acumen: Budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and profit optimization expertise.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead large, cross-functional teams and foster high-performance culture.
- Project Management Expertise: Strong knowledge of project and change management methodologies, risk management, and contract management.
- Business Development & Strategy: Experience in market analysis, business growth, and strategic planning.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Demonstrated ability to build relationships with executives, clients, and regulatory authorities.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience with Ontario nuclear clients such as OPG and Bruce Power.
- Technical Skills: Oracle Primavera P6, JDE, and PMP certification preferred.

The base salary range for this position in Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between $181,000 and $221,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits.
