Corporate Recruiter

Full-time/permanent; available as remote (within Ontario), hybrid or in-office in Kanata, ON

 

JOB SUMMARY:

 

The Corporate Recruiter supports the BWXT Medical initiatives to attract and retain top talent. This role is responsible for recruitment activities for 2 locations: Kanata, ON and Vancouver BC.  Maintains an open communication network with all hiring managers within the organization. This is to maintain an understanding of the internal workings of each group, their individual needs and anticipate any hiring needs they may have while ensuring the CBA is followed by all parties when applicable.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Attract and retain top talent:
    • Post job vacancies on various platforms.
    • Source candidates on social media.
    • Coordinate and/or participate in job fairs.
    • Liaise and partner with learning institutions, staffing agencies, industry partners, etc.
    • Promote the BWXT brand to attract top talent.
  • Review and analyze applications for appropriateness of skills, experience and knowledge in relation to position requirements and organizational fit.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with hiring managers and key stakeholders to provide expertise and consultation to help select top candidates while ensuring compliance with company policies, recruitment procedures and employment laws.
  • Coach and advise hiring managers and employees re recruitment processes and related policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the maintenance of strong working relationships with outside vendors and professional organizations regarding recruitment and resource management projects.
  • Assist with providing staffing-related metrics.
  • Ensure that all staffing efforts are in compliance with BWXT company policies and data privacy regulations.
  • Support hiring plans and corporate hiring initiatives with a focus on diversity and inclusion.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with staffing agencies that may be relied upon for additional hiring.
  • Negotiate contract terms and fees for Master Service Agreements with staffing agencies.
  • Promote the Employee Referral Program and approve and expedite employee referral awards.
  • Support and manage the post-secondary school co-op programs with a goal to maintaining a new graduate talent pipeline.
  • Participate on committees, special projects and teams as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Related post-secondary degree/diploma along with 5 to 7 years’ experience in talent acquisition or human

resources environment.

  • CHRL designation is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of recruitment/talent acquisition practices including use of various social media

platforms.

  • Proven experience in development of talent pipelines and sourcing candidates. Able to effectively

source candidates and pivot approach to ensure a strong candidate pipeline.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage conflicting priorities.
  • High attention to detail both with people and processes.
  • Effective communicator. Able to adapt to different personalities and situations.
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems - specifically Success Factors is an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Can effectively work with a variety of cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage confidential information as well as demonstrate sound judgement and decision

making.

  • Participate in Job Fairs at colleges/universities and at other community events related to recruiting.
  • Must be willing to travel to the locations noted above, as required to meet with hiring managers and

review staffing needs/status.
