We are currently recruiting for a Scientist - Product Lead
POSITION SUMMARY:
As the Scientist - Product Lead, you will take on a pivotal role in driving the design, development, testing, and commercialization of medical isotope products. You will lead projects from conception through to implementation, ensuring that products meet both market needs and regulatory standards. This position requires strategic leadership, exceptional communication skills, and technical expertise in the field of medical isotopes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Spearheads the Identification, planning and execution of advanced research and development projects, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.Leads the end-to-end process of product development, from initial concept through to successful launch, ensuring adherence to industry standards and customer expectations.
- Collaborates closely with marketing, regulatory, and operational teams to define product specifications and deliverables, ensuring that all stakeholder inputs are considered.
- Spearheads the preparation of comprehensive project estimates, timelines, and risk assessments, ensuring transparency and accountability in project management.
- Provides mentorship and guidance to project teams, fostering a culture of innovation and scientific excellence.
- Conducts thorough impact assessments of process changes, and determines justifications for quality dispositions in collaboration with quality assurance teams.
- Engages in hands-on scientific work when necessary, particularly during critical phases of project lifecycle and product validation.
- Prepares estimates for work to be performed including direct and indirect costs.
- Supervises assigned staff on projects.
- Coordinates tasks with others, both internal to and outside of the company in order to achieve project objectives.
- Provides technical assistance to others, including the assessment of impact of changes to the validated state of products and technical justifications in support of quality dispositions.
- May perform hands on technical tasks for new projects.
- May represent the Company on committees, boards, panels, study groups and/or commissions - National and International.
- May be assigned the role of Technical Design Authority related to the field of expertise, to authorize changes and approve procedures, technical reports and specifications.
QUALIFICATIONS & ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- PhD or Master's degree in Science or Engineering, plus at least 5 years of relevant technical experience. In some cases, professional certifications may be required.Must have fully proficient technical knowledge within a scientific specialty (physics, chemistry, biochemistry, metallurgy) and appreciation of basic principles in peripheral fields.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities and a track record of successful product management and team collaboration.
- Should have a detailed knowledge of relevant company policies and procedures.
- Requires an understanding of factors that contribute to the team's success and how the team's activities impact other teams.
- Ability to solve problems that are varied and complex. Solutions may occasionally require modification of existing concepts but comply with regulations/ standards.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve complex problems creatively while maintaining compliance with safety regulations and quality expectations.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with diverse audiences and facilitating discussions around project and product improvements.
The pay range for this position in Ontario (CA-ON) is expected to be between $$89,000.00 and $$139,000.00 per year. The total compensation package for this position may also include a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment and are subject to a collective bargaining agreement.
