BWXT Medical Ltd. is hiring a Product Portfolio Manager in Kanata, ON. 

 

Work Structure: Hybrid, with the ability to work on-site when required.

 

On-Site location: 447 March Road, Kanata, Ontario

 

 

JOB PURPOSE

The Product Portfolio Manager is entrusted with the management of BWXT Medical’s product portfolio. The Product Portfolio Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the profitability, optimization, and strategic direction of our diverse range of products, from development through to commercialization and post-market activities.

JOB STRUCTURE & COMMUNICATIONS

The Product Portfolio Manager reports to the Director, Customer Experience and has no direct reports. 

  • Communicates regularly with management and cross-functional teams regarding product portfolio strategies, plans, and performance to those plans.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to develop strategies and action plans to meet market needs and address product gaps.
  • Must be able to communicate and work effectively with internal teams to ensure efficient allocation of resources across the portfolio.
  • May engage and negotiate with external customers and partners.
  • May represent BWXT Medical and present at seminars, conferences and other external platforms.

 

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Strategic Portfolio Management

  • Manage a portfolio of products that may include active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), finished radiopharmaceutical products, and/or contract manufactured products.
  • Prioritize products based on market trends, competitive landscapes, and business goals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Operations, Regulatory Affairs, Marketing to align product development, manufacturing, distribution, commercialization and launch strategies.
  • Develop and lead a systematic process for new product introduction and commercialization.

 

Portfolio Analysis:

  • Conduct regular analysis of portfolio KPIs and ensure products meet expected market share, revenue and profitability targets.
  • Develop a complete value chain analysis from supply through to end use. • Identify gaps and opportunities within the portfolio, proposing corrective actions or new initiatives.
  • Define pricing strategies for products on an annual basis.

 

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Engage with internal stakeholders to gain insights and ensure alignment with portfolio strategies.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including customers, partners and thought leaders.

 

Risk Management:

  • Monitor external factors that may affect the portfolio, including regulatory changes, competitor activities, and market dynamics.
  • Develop risk mitigation strategies to address potential challenges.

 

Financial Management:

  • Collaborate with the finance team to manage product portfolio budgets.
  • Understand and analyze cost drivers for each product and work cross-functionally to recommend strategies to manage costs and drive optimal profitability.

 

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Pharmacy, Life Sciences, or related field. An MBA or advanced degree is considered an asset.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in the nuclear medicine or pharmaceutical industry, with at least 3 years in portfolio management or similar roles.
  • Strong analytical, planning, forecasting and budget skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven track record in product management and meeting business objectives.
  • Familiarity with nuclear medicine regulations, pharmaceutical regulations and industry trends.
  •  Demonstrated effective leadership skills.

The base salary range for this position in Ontario (CA-ON) at the start of employment is expected to be between $78,000 and $121,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment.
