MASTER PLANNER SCHEDULER

 

We are currently recruiting for a Master Planner Scheduler for our facility in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

JOB OVERVIEW

The Master Scheduler is responsible to ensure the medium - long-term forecast, demand and production plans are scheduled on-time and at the correct configuration, balancing inventory levels, customer SLA’s, and to support on the development and posting of the Sales and Operations Plan (S&OP).

 

 

JOB STRUCTURE AND COMMUNICATIONS

  • Reports to the Director Director of Supply Chain and requires strong collaboration with procurement, warehouse, production, sales and marketing, quality control, program management and senior leadership.

 

ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

Section Resources Management

  • Collaborate with supply chain leadership in developing, overseeing, enhancing, and digitizing the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process to evaluate service levels, assess performance relative to schedules, formulate inventory strategies, and align the supply chain plan with demand and resource considerations.
  • Develop the level loaded Master Production Schedule (MPS) and conduct feasibility studies as required.
  • Manage the master schedule and raise forth any leveling concerns.
  • Lead weekly schedule meetings and ensure that master plan requirements are reflected in the weekly schedule.
  • Collaborate with production managers to create and/or re-align the production plans to meet production and sales forecast.
  • Deliver cycle time, lead time and capacity availability to Production Managers weekly.
  • Collaborates with operational requirements to prioritize and oversee any existing production backlog.
  • Statistical analyses on supply and demand variability, to ensure planning parameters are aligned with BWXT Medical business objectives.
  • Run MRP on a weekly basis, validating that the purchase and planned orders are aligned to the demand and coordinating with various teams to ensure compliance with that plan.
  • Ensure constant communication with main stakeholders (finance, sales, manufacturing, supply chain, quality control) on schedule, changes, and impacts.
  • Work with Production to define and manage the parameters of the production plan (labour and equipment) to fulfill customer requirements including the size of lots, work centers, inventory policy execution.
  • Responsible for developing reporting tools for demand vs forecast.
  • Build, analyze and report monthly/quarterly KPI’s for actual results against Master Production Schedule.
  • Work with the management team to drive continuous improvement through our systems.

Administration

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • Post-Secondary education in Supply Chain or equivalent experience and education.
  • Knowledge of Oracle a strong asset.
  • Demonstrate the ability to build an S&OP process from the ground up.
  • Strong knowledge of planning software solutions.
  • Advanced/Expert Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Critical decision making.
  • Strong analytical, presentation and reporting skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and collaboration with multiple teams.
  • Demonstrated skills in process management and improvement.
  • Minimum of 10 years working in manufacturing environment in a planning/scheduling capacity.
  • Experience working in nuclear and/or pharmaceutical environments is preferred.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Suite and MRP enterprise systems required (with strong emphasis on advanced excel skills).
  • Demonstrated experience in improving manufacturing information systems.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, in the English language.
  • Strong leadership abilities to plan and organize to meet production and operational objectives.
  • Able to work with little supervision

 

 

The base salary range for this position in Ontario (CA-ON) at the start of employment is expected to be between $74,000 and $114,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits.
