BWXT Medical is hiring a Director, New Products - Nuclear Medicine (Diagnostics & Radiotherapeutics) at our production facility in Kanata, ON. 

Location: On-site; 447 March Road, Kanata, ON or Remote

 

Position Overview: 

The Director of New Products is to lead global initiatives in the development and commercialization of high priority BWXT medical isotopes that support the development and commercialization of innovative diagnostic imaging agents and radiotherapeutic treatments.

 

Work You’ll Do:  

  • Accountable for business results, including product annual sales revenue forecasts, market share penetration within applicable market segments, and targeted sales expense performance ratios.
  • Develop and execute a commercial strategy, including business plans, strategic sales programs, and effective account management practices that supports high priority medical isotopes strategies that drive market opportunities.
  • Keep abreast of changes in the marketplace and industry trends; provide leadership on these subjects to product divisions and cross-functional teams.
  • Work cross-functionally with R&D, medical, clinical, and regulatory teams to shape product development plans and product profiles that support unmet market needs.
  • Take ownership for managing product sales financials, including revenue forecasts, marketing and business development, and other relevant sales support budgets.
  • Launch new medical isotope products, establishing channel strategy, informing and educating customers and end users of newly created value and drive its implementation to its maximum potential
  • Identify, evaluate, and champion new technologies and product concepts through early-stage development to commercial readiness.
  • Report directly to executive leadership and contribute to corporate strategic planning.
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with priority customers, by creating, implementing and managing broad-based strategic and life-cycle management plans.
  • Ensure that a solution’s selling strategy approach is fully implemented by continuously analyzing and evaluating sales performance.
  • Develop effective partnerships within the industry at large, representing the company in a manner that promotes the company's reputation as an industry leader.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30%

 

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 10 years’ commercial experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology companies with at least 5-years in strategic product development and marketing. Commercial experience in the nuclear medicine industry is strongly desired but not necessary
  • Technical degree (Engineering or Science) with an Advanced degree in life sciences (PhD, PharmD,) or a combination of scientific and business education (e.g., MBA with technical background).
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical, nuclear medicine and supporting medical isotope industries and is required
  • Knowledge of marketing, pricing, competitive and technical differentiation in nuclear medicine is critical to success in the role.
  • Deep understanding of molecular imaging modalities (PET, SPECT) and targeted radiotherapeutics (e.g., beta or alpha-emitting agents).
  • Demonstrated track record of leading cross-functional teams and successfully bringing new products from concept to launch.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to translate clinical value into business opportunity.

 

The base salary range for this position in Ontario (CA-ON) at the start of employment is expected to be between $$89,000.00 and $$139,000.00 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits.
