Position Overview:
As our Development Technician, you’ll be at the heart of innovation—supporting troubleshooting efforts, performing custom maintenance and repairs, and contributing to project execution and technical research. You’ll assemble equipment, conduct tests and experiments, and play a key role in commissioning new processes, products, equipment, and facilities. Your hands-on expertise will help drive development forward and bring ideas to life.

 

Location:

On-site in Kanata, Ontario.

 
Your Day to Day as a Development Technician: 
  • Supports troubleshooting of equipment and facility-related issues to ensure smooth operations.
  • Assists with custom maintenance and repair of specialized equipment.
  • Executes tasks related to process technical support and contributes to new process or product development initiatives as directed.
  • Assembles equipment and conducts experiments in accordance with established drawings, specifications, and procedures.
  • Collects and analyzes data, preparing detailed reports on findings and outcomes.
  • Provides technical guidance and recommendations under supervision.
  • Participates in consulting assignments, offering hands-on support and expertise.
 
  
Required Qualifications:
  • Technologist diploma (3-year) plus 3 years of relevant technical experience.
  • Must be able to build processes and equipment from designs.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend drawings, schematics, specifications and technical literature.
  • Demonstrated capability to write technical documentation.
  • Must be resourceful, creative and objective.
  • Be knowledgeable about radiation and industrial hazards and the techniques to reduce these hazards.
  • Be familiar with company organization, practices, policies and procedures

The hourly rate for this position in Ontario (CA-ON) at the start of employment is expected to be between $72,315 and $90,605  per hour. The rate offered is based on market location and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
