This position is onsite in Oakville, Ontario.

 

Position Overview:

 

The Source Assurance Inspector performs inspections, tests, surveillance and audits at suppliers’ plants both remotely and physically including visual, dimensional and documentation requirements. The Source Assurance Inspector ensures quality levels of supplier’s products meets company requirements. Act as a liaison with Procurement, Quality Assurance, Source Assurance, Engineering and Manufacturing on matters pertaining to source inspection. 

 

 

Your Day to Day:

 

  • Responsible for performing surveillance and source inspection either remotely or at the supplier’s facility. 
  • Review supplier’s documentation, e.g. MTRs, tests and inspection reports, thermal processing records, etc. related to the items requiring inspection.
  • Review conformance to vendor approved procedures and status level at plant.
  • Review operator qualifications.
  • Review certification of NDE materials used by supplier.
  • Review processing and measuring equipment calibration. 
  • Perform visual, dimensional, or Non Destructive Examination inspections of components, assemblies, forgings, castings, fabrications, etc. against Purchase Order requirements.
  • Document the source inspection performed via the Source Inspection Report (SIR) in a timely manner and indicate the status level of the item. 

 

 

Experience:

 

  • Degree or diploma in technology or equivalent working experience 
  • Developed knowledge and applied use of ASME Section III – Construction of Nuclear Facility Components & ASME Section VIII – Pressure Vessels as it relates to code related material documentation.
  • Knowledge of Quality Assurance principles
  • Microsoft Office (Word/Excel) 
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Manufacturing and Quality Assurance/Control.

The base salary range for this position in Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between $73,500 and $116,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment.
