JOB PURPOSE:
A Shipper/Receiver is responsible for activities required for shipping and receiving and inspecting incoming shipments according to company procedures, production schedules and customer requirements.
JOB STRUCTURE & COMMUNICATIONS:
The Shipper/Receiver reports to the Operational Process Manager and has no direct reports. The Shipper/Receiver will take direction on day to day activities from the Shipper/Receiver Lead.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Schedule daily deliveries and perform loading and off-loading functions for the plant
- Ensure loading of quality finished product with no visible non-conformities for all customers orders
- Responsible for accurate inventory and reporting all discrepancies
- Communicate any deviations of the loading/unloading schedule to the Logistics Supervisor
- Perform all aspects of computerized bills of lading
- Perform physical counts of inventory as directed
- Responsible for managing the storage and inventory counts for products in WIP shipping/receiving zones. As well as the maintenance and cleaning of that zone.
- Confirm Pack List matches physical inventory being received
- Pull the PO from PO files and stamp with Receiving Number
- Add to receiving log under Receiving Number
- Put paperwork, MCS and Receiver together and put on the incoming RIR wall
- For goods that have been tested and reports arrive via email; print the reports, stamp PO with RN, add to receiving log and put paperwork on the RIR wall.
- Operate forklift to carefully move components as required.
- Training as required for BWXT staff on forklift and crane.
- Ensure the movement of parts from WIP shipping/receiving forward to other WIP staging zones or departments as necessary.
- Responsible for ordering packing materials required for ensuring safe transport of goods.
- Responsible for ordering internal packing materials required for safe transport and storage of goods.
- Assist with movement of goods throughout the shop as needed for operations support.
- Assist and co-ordinate the cleaning of parts as per approved documentation.
- Responsible for completion of Final inspection checklist for final shipments to customer.
- Responsible for daily perimeter check of facility at end of shift to ensure all goods are inside the facility as required and the outdoor facilities are orderly and hazard free.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent education required.
- At least 3 years’ relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in carefully handling precision machined components using motorized carts, forklifts, and overhead cranes.
- Must be able to lift and move goods repeatedly and safely operate a forklift
- Must be organized and capable of prioritizing inbound and outbound shipments, loading and unloading in an efficient, safe, and effective manner
- Basic to intermediate computer skills and strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrable ability as an adaptable team player with strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong ability to work independently to complete assignments promptly while maintaining the high standards required in our industry.
- Certified forklift and crane training an asset.

The hourly rate for this position in Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between $41,000 and $57,000. The rate offered is based on market location and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
