We are currently looking for a tooling engineer to fill a vacancy at our facility in Mt. Vernon, IN.  Primary duties for this position include:


  • Design and procure tooling for heavy equipment fabrication.
  • Develop and approve lift methods for production components.
  • Utilize CAD-Solid Modeling to develop designs.
  • Perform structural analysis through hand calculations, MathCAD, FEA and other tools to verify tooling designs.
  • Write design reports for tooling designs and also perform peer reviews.
  • Approve drawings for tool designs.
  • Collaborate with Welding and Manufacturing Engineers to develop concepts for tool design.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing to identify vendors for tooling and to procure tools.


The successful candidate must have a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering (Master's Degree a plus).  Preference will be given to candidates with the following experience:


  • Two (2) or more years' experience with CAD-Solid Modeling
  • Six (6) years' experience in a manufacturing/fabrication environment
  • Previous work with structural analysis and finite element analysis
  • PE license or working toward PE license
  • MathCAD experience is a plus

U.S. citizenship with no dual citizenship is required for this position. 


Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or matter. Position requires U.S. citizenship (no dual citizenship) with the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance involving an extensive criminal and financial background investigation, drug test and previous employment reference verifications.
