BWXT is seeking a Quality Inspection Supervisor to join our growing team in Mt. Vernon, IN!
Job Responsibilities:
- Supports production manufacturing processes through supervision and daily oversight of a team of inspectors.
- Observes shop floor activities to ensure compliance to internal quality procedures and customer standards.
- Completes and ensures accurate time entry records for assigned employees; effectively communicates employee performance expectations and addresses conduct and performance concerns appropriately and promptly.
- Initiates and coordinates personnel training/qualification activities and maintains appropriate documentation.
- Assists in the development and implementation of inspection plans.
- Participates in CAPA (corrective action) resolution for component processes.
- Works closely with Engineering and other departments to provide technical support for problem solving and assists in defining appropriate corrective actions.
- Participates and supports design teams through the development of product inspection plans.
- Provides analysis of quality data to identify trends and implement product improvement actions.
- Maintains required quality assurance records and ensures records are complete and accurate.
Job Qualifications/Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent along with a minimum of five years of work experience in a quality driven manufacturing/fabrication/production environment.
- Prior/current qualification as an inspector is required, with demonstrated work experience executing inspection plans.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively; contribute to technical teams; and establish effective working relationships with others is required.
- Prior experience managing an inspection team in a machining, welding, or other heavy manufacturing environment is preferred.
- U.S. citizenship with no dual citizenship is required.
