BWX Technologies is currently looking for a qualified Quality Assurance Engineer to join our growing team at our facility in Mt. Vernon, IN.  The person in this role will:


  • Support of production manufacturing processes on assigned shift for dedicated product lines.
  • Perform quality engineering tasks for resolution of quality issues.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of inspection plans.
  • Participate in audits of internal departments and suppliers to assure compliance to customer and internal requirements.
  • Shop floor surveillance to compliance to internal procedures and customer standards.
  • Support of hourly inspection personnel and development of inspection technique documentation.
  • Perform maintenance of quality assurance records
  • Participate on design teams for development of product inspection plans
  • Perform analysis of quality trending data to implement product improvement actions.
  • Be responsible for procedure development and ownership, to include maintenance of ISO9000 quality system procedures and work instructions.
  • Participate in CAPA (corrective action) resolution for component processes.


The successful candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in an engineering or technical discipline and at least three (3) years' relevant experience.  Strong preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in a QA Engineering role, particularly those with a background in shop surveillance, inspection, data trending, procedure development, and corrective action.

U.S. citizenship with no dual citizenship is required for this position. 


Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or matter. Position requires U.S. Citizenship (no dual citizenship) with the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance involving an extensive criminal and financial background investigation, drug test and previous employment reference verifications.
