BWXT is seeking a Planner/Scheduler to join our growing team in Mount Vernon, IN!

 

The Planner / Scheduler develops, implements and maintains the master schedules for assigned projects in alignment with the contract requirements and project scope of work to: ensure that the project is on-track; identify variances, analyze impacts of variances and take corrective actions if required.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Prepare and maintain a master schedule for all assigned contracts and proposal activity.
  • Prepare various “what-if” scenarios due to unplanned conflicts or issues to support internal needs and contract delivery dates.
  • Track and Release (via SAP system) material to production to support shop needs.
  • Review production history and update schedules.
  • Drive schedules, ensuring that requirements are effectively communicated to all supporting departments.
  • Actively participate in the regular Project Team meetings.
  • Present schedule updates to upper management and external customers.
  • Coordinate with other sites for work sharing.
  • Analyze, evaluate and forecast the current project status against the baseline plan, assess the impacts of changes, identify root causes and develop recommendations for appropriate actions for recovery.
  • Identify, analyze, resolve, mitigate, eliminate, and manage risks that could adversely affect project completion.
  • Perform analytical reviews and checks of schedules and present status as well as forecast updates to PM and Project Team.
  • Perform resource leveling and smoothing to identify resource requirements and develop recommendations for hiring, training, outsourcing, etc. as appropriate.
  • Utilize performance data to aid in the development of Plant Health Metrics, Key Performance Indicators (KPI), and other data representation models as appropriate.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Either an Associates' degree in a related technical field from an accredited university along with two years of relevant experience; or a Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field; or a minimum of four years of relevant experience is required. Related and relevant experience includes similar duties as those described being performed in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability with Microsoft Office products including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Functional knowledge of Scheduling theory/concepts and experience scheduling for manufacturing/production/operations.
  • Experience in coordinating manufacturing processes, productivity, and efficiency measurements.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Experience with Resource-Constrained scheduling.
  • US citizenship with no dual citizenship is required.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with Primavera P6.
  • Working knowledge of an Asset Management system (preferably SAP).
  • Experience with program development or project management.

Pay: $53,000 - $86,000

 

The base salary range for this position in Indiana (US-IN) at the start of employment is expected to be between $53,000 and $86,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement.  The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
