BWXT is looking for an NC Programmer to join our growing team in Mt. Vernon, Indiana!

 

Responsibilities include:

 

  • The development, preparation and successful application of NC machine programs. 
  • Works closely with the NC Programmers, Tool Applications, Machine Shop Managers, and machinists
  • Analyzes manufacturing drawings to generate programs for a variety of CNC machines including but not limited to horizontal boring mill, vertical mills capable of machining 5 axis, and vertical machining centers capable of multi-axis machining
  • Develops setup sheets and detailed instructions for the proper use of the program
  • Provides training and support to the machine shop to assure the success of the machining operations

 

Job qualifications and requirements:

 

  • Requires an Associate's degree with 2 years experience or 5 years of related experience
  • Requires proficiency in the use of Siemens NX (Unigraphics) CAD/CAM package
  • Must have a working knowledge of and able to interpret and apply standard G-codes and M-codes
  • Must be familiar with GD&T
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Security Clearance
  • Flexibility to report at other scheduled times as business need dictates
