Lead Auditor - BWX Technologies, Inc. - Mount Vernon, Indiana

 

BWX Technologies, Inc. is looking for an ideal candidate to fulfill the role of a Lead Auditor as part of their Nuclear Operations Group, Quality Assurance Department in Mt. Vernon, Indiana.  This individual will be responsible for audit process ownership, planning, execution, and training programs.  This individual will lead internal/external audits and serve as liaison with Customer and Government representatives.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Perform as the Lead; assist with all audits within NOG facilities and supplier facilities.
  • Select and lead audit teams for both internal and external audits.
  • Facilitate audit kick-off and wrap-up meetings.
  • Prepare, document and publish audit checklists and audit reports.
  • Draft and publish quarterly audit lessons learned reports.
  • Maintain ownership of audit program procedures, checklists, etc.
  • Coordinate audit logistics, personnel, and resources with on-site personnel.
  • Maintain audit history files containing all audit documentation and objective evidence collected for each audit.
  • Conduct audit training/certifications for NOG employees as well as govern, maintain and monitor status/files of audit qualification requirement status.
  • Process corrective actions within the system for audit findings and perform follow-up verifications.
  • Create and maintain metrics in support of periodic presentations to senior management and/or customer representatives.
  • Create and maintain annual Audit Schedule and Audit Metrics as required.
  • Conduct and implement continuous improvement efforts as required.

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Must have a minimum of 6 years of relevant  experience.
  • Must be willing to travel as necessary. Travel is expected to average 30-40% and primarily will be within the continental US.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and formulate technical worksheets from requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to precisely articulate requirements with internal and external personnel.
  • Excellent organizational and research skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, self-manage and work independently.
  • Ability to lead and direct work team personnel.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Three (3) years of experience in Quality Assurance and/or Auditing is preferred.  
  • Knowledge of welding, machining, NDT/NDE, and/or materials processing (melting/forging/rolling/plating/etc.) is preferred.
  • Mini-tab experience is a plus, but not required.
