Position Overview:
This position serves as a key HR partner by providing daily support, guidance, and engagement to employees and leaders across the site. The role manages full‑cycle hiring needs, conducts employee relations investigations, and ensures consistent application of policies and employment regulations. It also maintains accurate and confidential employee records, and supports a variety of employee events and compliance activities.
This position supports a safety and quality driven, 24-7 manufacturing operation and requires the ability and availability to occasionally work the adjusted schedule. Variations to normal work hours may include, but are not limited to, support of early morning meetings, engagement with the shop floor during 2nd shift evening operations, scheduled plant initiatives, unplanned after-hours investigations and pre-planned weekend employee events.

Your Day-to-Day as a Human Resources Generalist:
- Provide daily HR support on the shop floor by engaging with employees, responding promptly to questions, and addressing concerns as soon as they arise.
- Partner with leadership and Talent Acquisition to deliver full-cycle support for the site’s hiring needs.
- Advise employees and managers on interpreting policies, guidelines, procedures, laws, and other regulatory requirements.
- Conduct employee relations investigations that prioritize factual accuracy, adherence to legal and policy requirements, and timely resolution.
- Assist with employee events, including benefits enrollment, policy training, organization-wide meetings, career fairs and employee recognition events.
- Maintain regulatory compliance by routinely verifying that all required legal and ethics postings are current and properly displayed.
- Manage the maintenance, integrity and confidentiality of new hire files and records.
- Collaborate closely with front-line leaders and employees to improve working relationships, boost morale, and strengthen productivity and retention.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in human resources, business, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of one year of HR experience that includes hands-on work in staffing, benefits, compensation, employee relations, and employment law compliance.
- Ability to work fully onsite at BWXT’s Mt. Vernon, IN office location.
- Proven ability to deliver strong customer service while maintaining strict adherence to legal and policy requirements.
- Proven ability to manage time effectively and balance multiple competing priorities.
- Demonstrated intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word. Advanced Excel proficiency with the ability to produce required business reporting.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels and collaborate successfully with cross-functional teams.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance.

Pay: $60,000 - $90,000
The base salary range for this position in Indiana (US-IN) at the start of employment is expected to be between $60,000 and $90,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement. The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
