Position Overview:
BWXT is seeking an experienced, hands-on IT Manager to lead and optimize our Manufacturing and Quality Applications portfolio. This role is designed for a strategic and operational leader who will drive the performance, resiliency, and continuous improvement of our IT systems across production, manufacturing, and quality services. The ideal candidate will blend technical expertise with strong leadership and business acumen to deliver reliable IT services, ensure financial targets are met, and align application roadmaps with business objectives.
The IT Manager will be responsible for IT service delivery, financial performance, applications roadmap, and team management ensuring all resources are optimized and utilized efficiently. The role will spearhead initiatives to improve manufacturing and quality business process, define target information system architectures and technology solutions, and establish departmental controls. This leader will build and maintain business relationships to ensure service levels and project initiatives are in alignment with the business’ needs and IT direction. This role will work closely with stakeholders to identify and understand functional and business requirements and solve complex business problems that enhance the organization's production capabilities. Responsibilities also include implementing new capabilities and services, harmonizing business and IT processes, consolidating / updating / converting applications, developing functional requirements, leading data migration activities, and working with software and consulting vendors.

Your Day to Day as an IT Manager, Manufacturing and Quality Applications:
- Leads team members including IT managers, individual contributor IT resources, IT contractors, and IT consulting.
- Leads technical and functional teams throughout project lifecycles and operational tasks.
- Owns and manages the financial performance of the department budget.
- Facilitates meetings with stakeholders, project teams, department resources, and external partners.
- Streamlines business and IT processes to improve operational efficiency.
- Leads efforts to diagnose, troubleshoot, resolve, and test issues in production systems including ERP, MES, QMS, timekeeping systems, and other production-centric information systems.
- Ensures system security best practices are followed.
- Leads and drives data integrity and data consistency improvements.
- Provides technical leadership to application sustainment teams.
- Leads business requirements to capture and review processes to prioritize business needs.
- Drives rigor in IT systems architecture and solution design practices for production solutions.
- Ensures IT applications quality assurance practices are engrained in the department processes.
- Recruits, develops, and mentors team members.
- Coordinates and leads external partners, consultants, and contractors.
- Collaborates across organizational boundaries supporting the differing needs of the business working towards a shared goal.
- Demonstrates project leadership skills and techniques.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience.
- Direct hands-on experience with manufacturing, quality, and engineering application systems.
- Experience capturing business requirements, identifying solutions, planning and leading information systems / data migrations, developing information system harmonization strategies, and portfolio shaping.
- Strong understanding of project, portfolio, organizational change management, waterfall, and agile project management techniques.
- Experience participating with a PMO, business steering committee, or similar.
- Excellent technical support process improvement skills.
- Excellent in preparing technical and executive level presentations and diagrams.
- Excellent written, oral, and presentation communication skills.
- Must be a U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.

Pay: $136,000 - $203,000
The base salary range for this position in Florida (US-FL) at the start of employment is expected to be between $136,000 and $203,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement. The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
