Job Description/Duties:

Provides engineering support for Uranium Recovery Operations.
Participates in the troubleshooting of issues arising in existing equipment and assists with the deployment of new equipment.
Supports production operations as the technical lead and subject matter expert for the assigned area of responsibility.
Leads and executes process improvement projects, including identifying improvements, planning, creating work orders, creating and leading safety evaluation requests (SERs), creating purchase requisitions, and generating functional specifications.
Creates and revises operating procedures and technical drawings.
Creates training plans for shop floor personnel. Participates in the training activities.
Follows BWXT established change management and Safety Evaluation processes.
Evaluates process data to determine improvements and best practices. Makes recommended modifications/improvements based upon data evaluation.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications/Requirements:

BS in Engineering. Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical discpilines preferred.
Must possess at least seven (7) years of engineering experience.
Must possess at least two (2) years of Chemical Processing experience, preferably with Uranium.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Demonstrated success working in a team environment.
Demonstrated success authoring technical reports.
Self-motivated. Shows initiative with minimal supervision.
Capable of leading multi-discipline teams.
Demonstrable skills and knowledge of CAD software, preferably Solid Edge, preferred.
Must be a US Citizen with no dual citizenship.
Must be able to obtain/maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.

Pay: $99,410 - $184,630

 

The base salary range for this position in Virginia (US-VA) at the start of employment is expected to be between $99,410 and $184,630 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement.  The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
