BWXT is currently seeking an UPRR Quality Assurance Technologist for its Lynchburg, VA location!

 

Job Description/Duties:

  • Processes non-conformance control documentation.
  • Maintains logs and updates affected systems and personnel.
  • Provides records as requested by internal and external customers.
  • Reviews and processes documentation for material, process, and product release.
  • Notifies appropriate personnel of final submittal dispositions.
  • Prepares weekly and monthly released items reports.
  • Interfaces with customer representatives to answer questions, furnish data, etc.
  • Prepares forms for computer entry and reviews records for completeness and accuracy.
  • Establishes and maintains records on the final release of each component.
  • Prepares and submits component release and certification packages.
  • Notifies appropriate personnel/unit of product status and final release.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

 

Job Qualifications/Requirements:

  • A minimum of an Associate’s Degree in a technical field plus two (2) years of experience OR a high school diploma or equivalent plus six (6) years of relevant experience is required.
  • Knowledge of NQA-1 and ISO 9001:2015 quality system requirements preferred.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must be able to read and accurately interpret technical documents.
  • Previous knowledge of and/or experience with, machining and assembly type manufacturing processes preferred.
  • Must be highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
  • Must be able to demonstrate superior written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must be a US Citizen with no dual citizenship.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.

 

 

 

Pay: $54,000 - $88,000

 

The base salary range for this position in Virginia (US-VA) at the start of employment is expected to be between $54,000 and $88,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement.  The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
