Supply Chain Senior Buyer - BWX Technologies, Inc. - Lynchburg, VA

BWX Technologies, Inc. (BWXT) is currently seeking a Supply Chain Senior Buyer for its Lynchburg, VA location!

BWXT Advanced Technologies is looking for Subcontract Professionals to support exciting first-of-a-kind government funded contracts.  Relocation of the successful candidate will be available.  This role will offer a hybrid schedule contingent upon program needs.

 Job Description/Duties:

• Identify, manage, escalate, and mitigate supply-based risks throughout the procurement life cycle in support of government contract requirements, operational goals and business strategy
• Partner with other functional groups, including legal, contracts, PMO, QA, risk management, finance, and others
• Negotiate non-disclosure agreements
• Create and issue requests for proposals and evaluate supplier proposals
• Conduct pricing analysis
• Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers
• Monitor subcontractor performance and initiate corrective action if performance falters; execute contract modifications in response to changing requirements; and perform close-out activities
• Provide guidance on financial and contractual matters pertaining to subcontracts
• Schedule and lead meetings with PMO, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to facilitate communication and coordination of subcontractor actions
• Responsible for Purchase Order administration, including issuance, revision management, claim resolution, discrepancy settlement, etc. 
• Track open orders and report status as required in support of the business needs. 
• Visit and monitor performance of suppliers as necessary

Job Qualifications/Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field and a minimum of 6 years of experience in subcontracting; or 10+ years of experience in subcontracting is required
• Experience with negotiating terms and conditions in support of FAR/DFAR based contracts
• Detail oriented, organized and flexible
• Able to set priorities and de-conflict multiple demands
• Able to apply sound business judgment
• Ability to travel up to 20% of time
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiating skills are required
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite – Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint
• Must be a U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance

 Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in support of manufacturing
• Strong working knowledge of SAP or similar ERP platforms desired
