BWX Technologies, Inc. (BWXT) is currently seeking a Strategic Sourcing Specialist for its Lynchburg, VA location!

BWXT Advanced Technologies is looking for a Strategic Sourcing Specialist to support exciting first-of-a-kind government funded contracts.  Relocation of the successful candidate will be available.  This role will offer a hybrid schedule contingent upon program needs.

 Job Description/Duties:

• Identify, manage, escalate, and mitigate supply-based risks throughout the procurement life cycle in support of government contract requirements, operational goals and business strategy
• Partner with other functional groups, including legal, contracts, PMO, QA, risk management, finance, and others
• Negotiate non-disclosure agreements
• Create and issue requests for proposals and evaluate supplier proposals
• Conduct pricing analysis
• Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers
• Monitor subcontractor performance and initiate corrective action if performance falters; execute contract modifications in response to changing requirements; and perform close-out activities
• Provide guidance on financial and contractual matters pertaining to subcontracts
• Schedule and lead meetings with PMO, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to facilitate communication and coordination of subcontractor actions
• Responsible for Purchase Order administration, including issuance, revision management, claim resolution, discrepancy settlement, etc. 
• Track open orders and report status as required in support of the business needs. 
• Visit and monitor performance of suppliers as necessary

Job Qualifications/Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field and a minimum of 2 years of relevant buyer experience; or  6+ years of relevant buyer experience is required.

• Experience with negotiating terms and conditions in support of FAR/DFAR based contracts preferred

• Detail oriented, organized and flexible
• Able to set priorities and de-conflict multiple demands
• Able to apply sound business judgment
• Ability to travel up to 20% of time
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiating skills are required
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite – Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint
• Must be a U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance

 Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in support of manufacturing
• Strong working knowledge of SAP or similar ERP platforms desired

Benefits:

The Strategic Sourcing Specialist will work a 9/80 work week while receiving market leading pay, paid time off, paid holidays and winter holiday shutdown, educational refund plan, medical, dental, vision and service-based retirement contributions with additional 401k match.

Pay: $62,000 - $97,000

The base salary range for this position in Virginia at the start of employment is expected to be between $62,000 and $97,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement.  The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
