Your Day to Day as a Quality Assurance Engineer 3: 

  • Leads supplier and quality technical oversight for Supplier /Government furnished material.
  • Ensures material certifications and testing meet customer specification.
  • Oversees receipt inspection, material over-inspection, and production processes.
  • Resolves technical problems in a timely manner.
  • Maintains material and product traceability databases.
  • Maintains specification compliance databases.
  • Performs reviews of contract modifications and provides cost estimates for bid and proposal work. Resolves proposal technical issues.
  • Develops, writes, maintains, and complies with Operating Procedures, Quality Work instructions, and unit specific user instructions.
  • Leads internal and external audits to confirm technical, quality and regulatory compliance to requirements, thus ensuring the quality of BWXT products and 
    services.
  • Serves as UPRR representative for customer audits of UPRR.
  • Prepares audit plans through detailed analysis of previous issues, current performance, and requirements.
  • Issues audit reports and presentations.
  • Initiates and reviews Corrective Actions ensuring audit findings are resolved completely.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in applicable field.
  • Must possess at least (5) years of relevant experience.
  • Must possess proven ability in using Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must be able to demonstrate superior written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must have demonstrable time management skills.
  • Must be highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
  • Proven analytical and creative complex problem-solving abilities is required. 
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.
  • Must be a US citizen with no dual citizenship.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous six sigma/Lean experience a plus.
  • Experience with NQA-1 quality systems highly desirable.
