BWXT is currently seeking a Project Manager for its Advanced Technologies location in Lynchburg, VA!

Job Description / Duties:

  • Act as the primary contact for proposal and contract activities with both internal and external customers.
  • Assist in the development of proposals and coordination of activities associated with multiple projects simultaneously within a matrixed organization.
  • Lead the technical design and development team to achieve project milestones and technical deliverables.
  • Execute contracts, internal work authorizations, and subcontracts to advance the organization’s needs.
  • Work closely with assigned BWXT groups to establish project controls, schedules, resource plans and budgets.
  • Collaborate with project and technical leads to ensure projects remain on schedule and on budget.
  • Develop and manage project forecasts and forecast updates for bookings, revenue, and gross margin.


Job Qualifications / Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, science or technical discipline is required.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years relevant professional experience is required.
  • A minimum of five (5) years Project Management experience is required.
  • Must be able to practice clear, concise, and results oriented communication to convey and coordinate technical exchanges internally and externally.
  • Must possess demonstrable ability to analyze, condense, and write technical and commercial language presentations for customers and diverse audiences.
  • Experience in developing alternative technical and commercial strategies to solve complex project problems is required.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) or Department of Defense (DOD) security clearance, whichever is required.


Additional Desired Skillsets:

  • Demonstrated experience in creating project schedules, resource loading, managing project budgets, developing project cost/revenue forecasts, and creating and maintaining project baselines.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing Agile project management practices and leading Agile Sprint teams.
  • Prior supervisory and mentor experience.
  • Prior Nuclear and/or Radioisotope experience.
  • PMP Certification and/or MBA.
