BWXT is currently seeking an Operations Technologist for its Lynchburg, VA location!

 

Job Description/Duties:

 

  • Provides safety recommendations and production support for daily operations.
  • Coordinates with employees across the organization to ensure open communication, collaboration, and product flow in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Provides primary support to audit logs requiring interaction with all area personnel.
  • Works with engineers to ensure certification reviews are completed on schedule.
  • Maintains oversight of the following:
    • engagement with vendors and suppliers to coordinate delivery schedules to meet production needs.
    • perform procurement activities within SAP for consumables, tools, and essential items for operations.
    • coordinate with area engineers on procurement activities to ensure deliverables align with schedule needs.
    • coordinate tooling requests for the section to minimize production impacts.
  • Regularly communicates with all area personnel about any changes that may impact product quality.
  • Assists with development of projects to support personnel and equipment needs while maintaining shop throughput.
  • Maintains open communication and collaboration with employees across the facility as well as customer representatives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Job Qualifications/Requirements:

 

  • A minimum of an associate’s degree in a technical field plus two (2) years of experience OR a high school diploma or equivalent with six (6) years of related experience is required.
  • Five or more years of section experience and knowledge of EB/GTAW/PAW equipment and processes is preferred.
  • Must be able to communicate and coordinate with all levels employees.
  • Must be able to demonstrate strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must be a self-motivated and organized, with an ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Must be a US Citizen with no dual citizenship.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.
