BWXT is currently seeking an Operations Engineering Technical Specialist for its Advanced Technologies location in Lynchburg, VA!

Job Description / Duties:

  • Assist operations team in facility installation, facility alteration including new and/or added equipment, commodities and processes. 
  • Coordinate with stakeholders for various tasks/projects & scopes including respective facility owners, engineering, project controls, environmental health & safety and management.
  • Follow schedule and budget during operational activities for all assigned tasks/projects & scope.
  • Coordinate schedule with responsible project controls & management stakeholders.
  • Communicate task/project & scope status to all stakeholders clearly and effectively to maintain clarity of progress, existing issues, mitigating actions, success paths, constraints, etc.
  • Execute operational tasks and responsibilities within existing programs and procedural requirements per applicable facility/owner arena as well as within the AT Organization.
  • Participate in any applicable problem-solving efforts for any issues regarding schedule, technical, procedural, process and budget instances by leading/coordinating and involving the correct stakeholders and any other personnel (including management) as needed to course-correct any specific scope.
  • Read and communicate facility and engineering drawings and various equipment specification sheets relative to functionality, installation and operation in order to execute operations effectively.
  • Operate and provide feedback to system behaviors, overall facility lay-out, and functionality processes relative to operations.

 

Job Qualifications / Requirements:

  • A minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must have a minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience in Facility and/or Operations execution in a nuclear environment. A degree may substitute for years of experience. 
  • Must be able to provide clear, concise, accurate and timely written and verbal communication.
  • Must have the ability to work in a team environment, but the ability to work independently will also be required.
  • Must be a strong team player with the ability to develop effective relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft products (ex. Excel, Word, Powerpoint) is required.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship. 
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) or Department of Defense (DOD) security clearance, whichever is required.

 

 

Pay: $53,000.00 - $86,000.00

The base salary range for this position in Virginia (US-VA) at the start of employment is expected to be between $53,000.00 and $86,000.00 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement.  The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
