Your Day to Day as a Met Lab Engineer 2:
- Provides technical support for lab personnel, lab processes, and lab inspection equipment.
- Provides technical documentation/Metallographic reports to internal and external customers.
- Interprets contract technical requirements and incorporates into area procedures.
- Supports a project team, communicating status of any technical or production issue.
- Supports development and implementation of new or improved inspection techniques.
- Creates and revises procedures, forms, and submittals.
- Supports quotes for future work scopes.
- Maintains and trends relevant manufacturing/inspection data and key product attributes.
- May be expected to qualify as a Met Lab Examiner.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Physics is required.
- Must have experience in understanding, reviewing, and executing contract technical requirements.
- Must be able to demonstrate superior written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Must have experience providing guidance and written instructions to hourly workforce.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is required.
- Must be highly self-motivated and directed with keen attention to detail in order to successfully multi-task.
- Must be a US Citizen with no dual citizenship.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the qualification of new process/product or equipment preferred.
- Experience working within NOGL systems (EtQ, DocQnet, Solumina, Code Compliance, and SmartForms) strongly preferred.
