BWXT is currently seeking a Master Black Belt for its Lynchburg, VA location!

 

Job Description/Duties:

  • Coordinate with site leadership to identify and prioritize targeted areas of opportunity for eliminating waste and reducing variation.
  • Facilitate strategic planning and project selection sessions with site management.
  • Lead highly visible and complex process improvement projects.
  • Motivate and direct cross-functional teams to desired results through skillful application of the LSS principles, methodologies, and tools.
  • Provide technical guidance and support.
  • Mentor Master Black Belts, Black Belts, Green Belts, and Yellow Belts through certification.
  • Provide independent reviews for Black Belt certifications.
  • Provide feedback during dry runs and attend project report-outs.
  • Design, develop, and deliver training to support the LSS deployment.
  • Estimate soft and hard benefits (COPQ) for a variety of process improvement projects.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, business, or related field.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of related experience. 
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification or equivalent. Master Black Belt certification preferred.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.
  • Ability to report to work at an assigned office location in Lynchburg, VA. This is a fully onsite position.

Job Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Demonstrable experience as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt with a strong track record.
  • Demonstrable change management expertise and the ability to influence and gain commitment at all organizational levels.
  • Proven talented facilitator with experience leading a variety of teams and the ability to build positive working relationships.
  • Successful leadership experience coaching, teaching, and mentoring others.
  • Demonstrably strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Functional experience in multiple disciplines such as engineering, manufacturing, quality, and project management.
  • Ability to drive change, be results oriented, possess strong business acumen, have excellent communication skills, have strong technical aptitude, and be team oriented.

 

Pay: $128,000 - $189,000

 

The base salary range for this position in Virginia at the start of employment is expected to be between $128,000 and $189,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement.  The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
