BWX Technologies, Inc., is seeking a Health Physics Supervisor for its Nuclear Operations Group facility located in Lynchburg, Virginia!

Job Description/Duties:

  • Develops and implements radiological control programs to meet site goals and objectives.
  • Supervisors Radiation Control and Radiation Protection support for facility operations and projects.
  • Position requirements will include, but are not limited to, operational, shipping, and task-based assignments.
  • Emphasis will be on operational support and change management as well as technical analysis for complex and changing projects.
  • Incumbent will be expected to coordinate larger projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Requires Bachelor's degree or technical school equivalent and/or five (5) years of supervisory/leadership experience in related field.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a physical science, engineering, or radiation protection preferred.
  • Certified Health Physicist (CHP) preferred.
  • Prior experience in applied health physics at a nuclear  facility as well as Nuclear Power, DOE, USN, and Uranium industry experience desired.
  • High radiation and TRU experience preferred.
  • Prior experience with operational support, decommissioning, technical analysis, and changement preferred.

 

 

US Citizenship, with no dual citizenship is required for this position.

 

Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or matter. Position requires U.S. Citizenship with (no dual citizenship) ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance which involves an extensive criminal and financial background investigation, drug test and previous employment reference verifications.
