BWXT is currently seeking an Engineer for its Lynchburg, VA location!
The Engineer is responsible for overall support of the Uranium Recovery production process, working closely with area supervision and hourly personnel.
Job Description/Duties:
- Applies intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas of assignments, including process and administrative tasks.
- Exercises independent judgement to resolve engineering problems.
- Uses engineering methods to resolve important questions.
- Plans and coordinates work.
- Plans, develops, and coordinates complex projects while balancing smaller day-to-day process necessities.
- Writes technical papers and develops procedures that are easy to understand and carry out to the non-engineer.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications/Requirements:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university is required. Chemical or Mechanical discipline preferred. Internal candidates with a Physics Degree who are already on the Engineering Ladder are also eligible.
- A minimum of two (2) years of related experience is required.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment, as well independently, is required.
- Must be highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
- Must be able to demonstrate superior written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Must demonstrate ability to build relationships across various groups of the organization.
- Must be a US Citizen with no dual citizenship.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.
