BWXT is currently seeking an Electrical Reliability Engineer for its Lynchburg, VA location!

 

The Electrical Reliability Engineer identifies and manages asset reliability risks that could adversely affect plant operations. This role is required to support outages/shutdown and must have the ability to work weekends, holidays, and off-shifts as needed.

 

Job Description/Duties:

  • Defines, designs, develops, monitors, and refines asset maintenance plans. This includes value-added preventative maintenance tasks and effective utilization of proactive and predictive technologies.
  • Develops engineering solutions to minimize repetitive equipment and facility failures.
  • Oversees vendor maintenance activities on facility systems.
  • Creates and reviews SAP maintenance metrics/reports to enhance equipment uptime.
  • Works in SAP, EtQ, docQnet, and Corrective Actions systems.
  • Updates and generates procedures, forms, and reviews and generates change documents.
  • Provides technical support to the IE craftsmen.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Job Qualifications/Requirements:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university. Internal candidates with a Physics Degree who are already on the Engineering Ladder are also eligible.
  • Must possess at least four (4) years of experience.
  • Must possess prior experience in Industrial Maintenance.
  • Must be highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
  • Must be able to demonstrate superior written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must be a self-starter and willing and able to follow verbal and written instructions, as well as other standard work practices.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite products.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is required. This includes interaction with FLMs, planning, engineering, production area personnel, craftsman, customers, vendors, manufacturers, purchasing, etc.
  • Must possess a working knowledge of National Electric Codes, National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes 70E and 79, and 29 CFR 1910 OSHA Standards.
  • Must be a US Citizen with no dual citizenship.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.
