Engineer 3 - (Electrical Engineer3)- NOGL (BWXT)- Lynchburg, VA

 

Job Description:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering plus four (4) years of experience is required.
  • Working knowledge of National Electric Codes, National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes 70E and 79, and 29 CFR 1910 OSHA Standards.
  • Must be able to work the annual plant shutdown during the week of July 4th.
  • Must be able to support emergency needs or calls related to power distribution systems (less than 5% of the time).
  • Design complex electrical systems related to facility infrastructure (Substations, Swithcgear, Transformer sizing, VFD's, Power monitoring, etc.)
  • Review and write technical specifications for facility equipment and buildings.
  • Manage projects related to electrical infrastructure additions, replacements, or modifications. -Work alongside other facility engineers, contractors, and maintenance groups.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Job Qualifications/Requirements:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
  • Experience with industrial/facility infrastructure design and industrial equipment.
  • CAD experience (MicroStation preferred but not mandatory).
  • Must be able to demonstrate superior written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is required.
  • Works independently and with minimal guidance in most situations, interprets internal or external business issues and recommends best practices or solutions.
  • Must be highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
  • Must be a US Citizen with no dual citizenship.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.
