Position Overview:
The Certification Technologist works with a specific product line and serves as the lead for QC certifications.
Location:
On-site in Lynchburg, Virginia
Your Day to Day as a Certification Technologist:
- For a specific product line, it serve as the lead for QC Certifications.
- Perform back-up responsibilities for other product lines.
- Generate submittals related to product inspection data and traceability information.
- Maintain schedule for own submittals as well as submittals for other areas to meet Project Management schedules.
- Maintain certification-related databases for tracking components and documents.
- Perform component traceability to ensure product quality is satisfied according to contract requirements.
- Perform peer reviews of inspection reports and certification supporting data.
- Provide technical support in applying document-to-product traceability (DSRs, Recess MODs).
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in a technical field or 4 years of relevant experience
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills to effectively communicate with a broad range of individuals and groups, both internal and
external, including but not limited to senior level management, engineers, DCMA, NNL, and shop personnel - Candidate must have problem-solving skills, learn quickly. be flexible, action oriented, forward-thinking, and committed to improving processes and
implementing new methods and technology - The successful candidate is self-motivated to plan and execute a certification scheduled months or years in advance
- The candidate will lead this effort and will give direction on the certification plan rather than receiving specific direction from management or others as to
timing of milestones required to meet certification dates - The candidate must have the ability to work on multiple tasks with excellent time management
- Setting milestones, advanced planning, and anticipating needs are essential
- The candidate must have the ability to follow progress on tasks performed by other units and departments to meet certification schedules, including interacting
with groups who are not meeting expectations or schedules needed to support certification dates - High level of demonstrated success in a team-oriented environment and engagement in previous roles (ownership, personal accountability)
- Must be a U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior QC experience desired.
- Attention to detail, experience with overchecks/peer checks, and a commitment to quality are desired
- Experience interacting with the customer is desired
- Experience in interpretation of contract requirements is desired
- A working knowledge of computer systems and applications software including So lumina. Microsoft Office Products (Access, Word, Excel), Sharepoint,
docQnet, EtQ, Smartforms; along with typing skills is desired. - The ability to follow the standards specified by the Contract and NOG-L procedures is desired.

Pay: $54,000 - $82,000
The base salary range for this position in Virginia (US-VA) at the start of employment is expected to be between $54,000 and $82,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement. The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
