BWX Technologies, Inc. is looking for a Category Manager at its Lynchburg location.

Job Description/Duties:

• Develops, plans, organizes and implements national/regional procurement strategies and programs to increase operational efficiency and profitability
• Develop spend analytics and supply base rationalization
• Outlines potential value and ROI for proposed initiatives and tracks results
• Prepare RFQ/RFP documents, facilitate solicitations, administer the evaluation and selection process
• Create and manage supplier agreements and monitor use of these agreements within the company
• Select and manage required suppliers who have the capacity and capability to meet the material and subcontract needs of the business
• Develops company-wide policies, procedures, and other organizational materials with respect to national/regional sourcing
• Maintain continuous in-depth knowledge of market conditions, industry trends, and developing technologies within assigned categories

Job Qualifications/Requirements:

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required
• Must have previous strategic sourcing experience
• Must possess at least ten (10) years of supply chain experience
• Must be able to demonstrate superior written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
• Must be highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a rapidly changing environment
• Collaborative, team player with a “can-do” attitude and good listening skills
• Must be a U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship

• Ability to report to work at an assigned office location. This position does not include a remote work option.

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Certification in Supply Management/Sourcing/Procurement
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
• Proven ability to establish processes and analytics to measure progress against initiatives
• Experience with an ERP system and inventory management
• Experience in the Transportation industry (Freight, Parcel, Rail, and Ocean)
• Proven ability to translate data into insights that support management of assigned categories
• Strong organizational skills including prioritizing, scheduling, and time management
• A reputation for influencing others and earning trust across organizations
• Ability to seamlessly work across functional and organizational boundaries
• Proven track record of delivering initiatives from conception through completion
