BWX Technologies, Inc. is looking for a Category Manager at its Lynchburg location.
Job Description/Duties:
- Develops, plans, organizes and implements national/regional procurement strategies and programs to increase operational efficiency and profitability
- Develop spend analytics and supply base rationalization
- Outlines potential value and ROI for proposed initiatives and tracks results
- Prepare RFQ/RFP documents, facilitate solicitations, administer the evaluation and selection process
- Create and manage supplier agreements and monitor use of these agreements within the company
- Select and manage required suppliers who have the capacity and capability to meet the material and subcontract needs of the business
- Develops company-wide policies, procedures, and other organizational materials with respect to national/regional sourcing
- Maintain continuous in-depth knowledge of market conditions, industry trends, and developing technologies within assigned categories
Job Qualifications/Requirements:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required
- Must have previous strategic sourcing experience
- Must possess at least ten (10) years of supply chain experience
- Must be able to demonstrate superior written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
- Must be highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a rapidly changing environment
- Collaborative, team player with a “can-do” attitude and good listening skills
- Must be a U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship

Ability to report to work at an assigned office location. This position does not include a remote work option.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in Supply Management/Sourcing/Procurement
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
- Proven ability to establish processes and analytics to measure progress against initiatives
- Experience with an ERP system and inventory management
- Experience in the Transportation industry (Freight, Parcel, Rail, and Ocean)
- Proven ability to translate data into insights that support management of assigned categories
- Strong organizational skills including prioritizing, scheduling, and time management
- A reputation for influencing others and earning trust across organizations
- Ability to seamlessly work across functional and organizational boundaries
- Proven track record of delivering initiatives from conception through completion
