BWXT is currently seeking an Application and Systems Developer for its Lynchburg, VA location.

The Application Developer will be responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of applications that support the manufacturing of products at BWXT.

Job Description/Duties:

• Design, implement, and test software. 
• Document development and provides end user support.
• Support migration of a large legacy MES system to a newer version.
• Develop and support modern replacements for legacy software using Microsoft Visual Studio and the .NET framework using Oracle and/or SQL Server databases.

 Job Qualifications/Requirements:

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in an IT field is required.
• Must possess at least two (2) years of related experience.  An advanced degree may substitute for some years of experience.
• Must have demonstrable knowledge of application development using MS .Net tools with relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server).
• Must have experience with full Software Development Life Cycle.
• Must possess strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and in a team.
• Strong software testing skills and knowledge of development of User Interfaces for data driven applications is a plus
• Must be a U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.
