Position Overview:
As our Field Engineer, you will provide pre-deployment, execution, and closeout support for Field Services projects. You will report to the Supervisor or Manager of Field Engineering and be assigned to Project Managers and Site Managers on a project-by-project basis, with potential assignment to a Field Engineering Lead on larger projects. You will collaborate with multiple internal workgroups to resolve technically complex issues under tight schedules, with limited interaction with customers and regulatory bodies.

Your Day to Day as our Field Engineer:
- Provide pre-deployment, execution, and closeout engineering support for Field Services projects in accordance with nuclear operating procedures.
- Review and validate work packages to ensure technical accuracy, scope alignment, quality compliance, and readiness for execution.
- Support procedure, tooling, and work package development, including participation in lessons learned, mock-ups, risk reviews, and failure mode assessments.
- Deploy to project sites and act as the on-shift Field Engineer, serving as the technical and quality authority for assigned work.
- Provide technical direction and oversight to trades and technicians, ensuring work is performed safely, accurately, and in compliance with approved documentation.
- Identify, assess, and resolve technical issues, non-conformances, and as-found conditions, escalating as required to engineering leadership.
- Apply human performance and error-prevention tools to support safe and effective execution under schedule constraints.
- Support project closeout activities, including completion of quality records, documentation, reporting, and capture of lessons learned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering with a minimum of 2 years of relevant industry experience.
- Knowledge of materials, field execution practices, and Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) applications.
- Familiarity with nuclear codes and standards, including ASME BPVC, CSA N285, and N299.
- Strong technical writing skills and professional-level English communication.
- Understanding of Human Performance error-prevention tools and Foreign Material Exclusion practices.
- Ability to translate complex technical requirements into field-executable procedures.
- Experience training engineers, technicians, and trades in technically complex operations.
- Proven ability to execute and provide direction on work along critical project paths.
- Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation and possession of nuclear security clearance.
Security Clearance:
This role requires the successful candidate to complete the security clearance process. The security clearance process is conducted in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) and the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) and may take up to 12 months to complete.

The base salary range for this position in Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between $68,000 and $91,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits.
