Position Overview
The Training Specialist is an onsite role responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining effective training programs that support employee development and ensure compliance with site requirements. This role will create and deliver training content, and partner with internal subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure training materials are accurate, engaging, and aligned with organizational standards. The Training Specialist will also evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and continuously improve training processes.

Onsite in Jonesborough, Tennessee.

 

Your Day to Day as a Training Specialist: 

  • Develops training lesson plans or collaborates with internal SMEs to create accurate and effective training content that meets safety, security and compliance expectations for the NRC and DOE.
  • Delivers in-person training sessions or coordinates internal SMEs or contractors to provide instructor-led training when needed, on industry criticalities, safety protocols, and procedural adherence required in controlled nuclear, and high security environments.
  • Utilizes AI-based tools and platforms to create online training content whenever feasible.
  • Establishes and maintains training schedules, determines required training frequencies, and develops methods to assess trainee comprehension.
  • Maintains accurate training records and documentation within the LMS platform (SuccessFactors).
  • Conducts an annual self-assessment of the overall training program to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintains awareness of evolving industry regulations and incorporates necessary updates into training programs.
  • Supports audit readiness by ensuring training documentation meets the standards expected in nuclear and defense environments.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Corporate Training, or a related field with 5–8 years of relevant experience; or
  • Master’s degree in education with 3–5 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (LMS), including administration and reporting, preferably SuccessFactors. 
  • Experience developing instructional materials using e-learning.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies. 
  • Ability to leverage AI-driven tools to create or enhance training content.
  • Strong data and record‑keeping skills to manage training completion, certifications, and audit requirements.
  • Knowledge of regulatory or compliance training requirements relevant to the nuclear and defense industries. 
  • Must be a U.S. citizen. 
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (D.O.E.) clearance, if required. 

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to work independently and perform annual self-assessments of the training program.
  • Certified to teach OSHA and/or TOSHA classes.
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills for instructor-led training.
  • Change management experience.
  • Experience with radiological safety training program requirements preferred.

Pay: $76,000 - $119,000

 

The base salary range for this position in Tennessee (US-TN) at the start of employment is expected to be between $76,000 and $119,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement.  The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
