Position Overview:

As our Sr. Business Analyst – NOGJ, you will be responsible for identifying and maximizing financial opportunities through pricing strategy, cost optimization, capital efficiency and program profitability initiatives.  This role will work in collaboration with the NOGJ management team to achieve organizational objectives and ensure alignment with the company’s goals while fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.

Your Day to Day as Sr. Business Analyst – NOGJ: 

  • Identify and maximize financial opportunities through pricing strategy, cost optimization, capital efficiency, and program profitability initiatives.

 

  • Develop and evaluate business cases, capital investment proposals, and return-on-investment (ROI) analyses for special materials programs and infrastructure.

 

  • Partner with program and operations leaders to ensure accurate cost estimating, forecasting, and performance tracking for complex and regulated materials programs.

 

  • Analyze cost drivers, material yields, labor plans and efficiency, and overhead absorption to improve margins and financial predictability.

 

  • Work with site assigned finance personnel to lead development of annual operating plans, multi-year forecasts, and long-range financial plans related to special materials operations and new ventures.

 

  • Establish and monitor key financial and operational performance indicators (KPIs).

 

  • Serve as a trusted financial advisor to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.

 

  • Drive continuous improvement in operational performance, financial processes, tools, and reporting accuracy.

 

  • Act as a liaison between the Special Materials organization and BWXT Finance organization.

 

  • Ensure alignment with financial standards, internal controls, and regulatory or contractual financial requirements.

 

 

Required Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or economics

 

  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive financial leadership experience, including FP&A, program finance, or strategic financial analysis

 

  • Demonstrated experience maximizing financial performance in complex, highly regulated, or materials-intensive environments

 

  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting, business forecasting, and investment analysis

 

  • Proven ability to influence senior leaders and drive financially sound business decisions

 

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial analysis tools; experience with ERP systems

 

  • Experience supporting government-funded, defense, nuclear, energy, or special materials programs preferred

 

  • Familiarity with FAR/DFARS or other regulated contracting environments preferred

 

  • Experience in capital project analysis and long-term infrastructure investments preferred

 

  • Must be a US Citizen with no dual citizenship

 

  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DOD) and/or Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance

 

  • Must be willing to travel (local and CONUS) up to 10% of the time

Pay: $112,090 - $208,170

 

The base salary range for this position in Tennessee (US-TN) at the start of employment is expected to be between $112,090 and $208,170 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement.  The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
